An option to choose where the items spawn ?

Hi. So it is certainly impossible but, if there is especially one thing that makes the items unattractive for the competitive aspect of the game, it is of course that they can spawn anywhere. So, what about algorithms that would consider how far a player is from the other(s), and spawn any item exactly between them ? (It could be activable only for 1v1 matches, if it is too hard to do for 3 or 4 players.) Or even, an option to choose if they should spawn randomly, or between them, or each time near a certain player(s) ?
Is there any chance that it would be possible one day?

I'm not saying at all that it should be added in the game to become something competitive. I just think it could be fun when we want to play with item. (When I play, I play nearly all the time without items, but still, it could be interesting.)

the thing is PM is for competitive playing, items are not a priority for what i understand, thats why they are off by default, and spawning items randomly its what makes it more fun for casual games, you never expect whats next... and that seems like alot of unnecessary work anyways.

Item spawn points are contained within each stage's file themselves. They aren't just randomly generated by the game in whatever position.
