Is level 9 still the max level of a CPU? Has the difficult changed ? Is a level 9 AI better than the one from melee?

You and I sir, have a very different perspective on the word important.

EDIT: But yes the comps did look a bit like lv3-5 computers. The Nintendo reps were playing ridiculously though, so theres no way of finding out.

Its important, because a lot of people really hoped that the AI of the computers was going to be a lot better than in Melee. I would love to see a level 9 computer that almost no one on earth could win.

All I saw was lvl 3 AIs and they seemed the same as in Melee (Yes, it was the rep that sucked XDD) Dont know about lvl 9 tho o.o I dont mind if they are the same as Melee, I still enjoy fighting them :D

Lvl9 AIs suck in melee because they do things no human can possibly do, and yet are still easily beaten, not to mention predictable. They grab you EVERY time you shield, for example. They shield reflect projectiles perfectly. And yet they still find it irresistible to drop down into your chrarged smash if you get below them.

Lvl9 AIs will train you not to shield, not to roll, not to throw stuff. And they will also train you to leave yourself wide open when you attack at times that are quite frankly stupid.

If the lvl9 AI is halfway competent, yet doesn't teach you bad habits, that's enough for me.

Don't get your hopes high for the AI. It's pretty hard to emulate what a real person would do in a given situation in a fighting game. With online play, the need for insanely hard (and really smart) AI is gone. Now we finally have the option to fight against human opponents without being in the same room as them. If you don't have an internet connection you better hope the AI got smarter

Quoted for truth. Anyone with access to the wi-fi capability should be utilizing that, not the new and improved level 9 or level 20 AI.

But, if you don't have an internet connection, hopefully the ai will be a little better. But as said, it's very hard to do.

in all actuality instead of AI, chinese sweat-shop brawl players are ranked 1-9 in terms of skill, then when someone fights a CPU they are linked to one of the brawlers secretly via satellite. I'm looking forward to how the system works.

I wouldn't mind having suped up AI. If I'm playing with a friend and he's tired of getting beaten badly, I'd definitely do some teams with him versus computers.

And now that they've put so much work into the Single Player and it's a bigger disc, they should have been able to make decent AI. The AI in smash64 is amazing, predictable, but compared to melee AI, they're practically pros.
