This is coming from a huge competitor in the game, but recently alot of hype has been for these amiibos reaching huge prices$$, I have a few amiibos (any hardcore Smasher would have to eventually try one), anyways, its almost to the point where u don't want to open one due to it being a rare piece and potentially really profitable! So the question is do you all see these amiibos being hugley collectable and valuable in the future? Or will they become no more valuable then sticker price once the hype dies?

Lesser known characters will become more valuable as time goes on (assuming that production for them ends). Otherwise they're for playing with.

I would still prefer Nintendo to just make color variants for collectors rather than making limited runs of entire character lines. That way scalpers don't snatch up all the figures and little Tommy is upset on Christmas morning because his mom couldn't find Villager.

Why was Marth apparently trashed though?
He became pretty famous and likable, albeit, because of Smash...

I still wish Nintendo would give each wave at least one more full reprint before limiting each set to the most popular key characters. (It would really cut down on the Scalping)
The way they are selling now, I'm sure they'll shift a lot of units regardless.

I WAS going to use mine to play with, but the things look so darn nice in the box, I think I'll keep mine in the box instead.
(I got Mario, Link, Donkey Kong, Samus, and Yoshi, so nothing rare; but I'm only collecting the characters I like the most. So in wave two I'm only getting Luigi, Captain Falcon, and HOPEFULLY little mac too, though I have a feeling my order's going to get cancelled again, since they ran out of stock on the official UK Nintendo store for lil' mac, and I bet GAME will too)

I'm playing with mine. I have Marth and I'm getting Kirby and Captain Falcon for Christmas, and Shulk when he comes out. I'm going to try to pick up Villager, Megaman, Meta Knight , Charizard, and Ness too. Can't wait until I get eight of them so I can have a deathmatch to see which of my amiibos is the best.

Not many collecting fads from the 90's are paying off yet, so my hopes for amiibo in a couple decades are not high. Unless you find a defective one, in which case you're rich today. As for toy or collectible, I think of them as toys first and foremost.
