Rather than posting about about amiibo that I want to get, speculating as to when the new wave will come out and what it consists of, or overly priced amiibo "defects," I want to make a post specifically on methods and results of training amiibo and experimentation. I have read several posts and articles on amiibo, how to train them and experiments that were done. But they're still rather new, and certainly not everything has been entirely discovered. If a post like this already exists, please direct me to it and I suppose we could ignore this one. It won't hurt my feelings.
I want this thread to consist of newly discovered things about amiibo, tested and effective methods of training, at what level they absorb more information, how to teach them one specific combo or tactic etc. Also, if there seems to be an issue with your amiibo please feel free to write about that as well. I just would prefer this to be mainly about how people trained their amiibo, what they've done with them and things of that nature. I think it should be fine to post and write about equipment that you've fed your amiibo, but I'd rather this be about the actual training, not feeding.
I am going to start off by stating that I have only played with and experimented with two, but mainly one of my several amiibo figures. This was my Yoshi figure. He reached level 50 by fighting me and other computers. But since then I haven't pit him against computers recently. Only myself. I usually mirror match him so as to teach him specific combos and tactics. For instance, throwing out a lot fairs (forward airs) for spacing. If an opponent is approaching the stage, he'll throw an egg and then try to go for a fair sometimes, attempting a spike. This is what I've taught him to do. Even though he is level 50, he does not launch me farther, or put more damage on me any more than he did at lower levels. The only difference is his tactics and abilities. Even so, he still learns and mimics what I do, the more I do it and the effectively I use it. I've read this before, but I think it is most likely true, that the numbers mean nothing.
...Unless there are certain levels of which amiibos learn quicker. Now, I haven't really done too much experimenting with this myself. I've only ever used my Yoshi and Kirby amiibo figures. So I cannot say too much for certain. I'd share a link to a video, but I cannot until I've made more posts. I'd also like to share some links to some good articles I found on amiibo but again, I cannot post any links yet. Please feel free to do so yourself though.
Now I know I didn't really mention to many notable and interesting discoveries from my personal experiences, but I haven't really experimented too much with these. I hope that I can provide at least a little bit of information for people and also that other people can share more information that they've discovered themselves. Lastly, please post any links to articles or videos that you think will be useful for this thread.
Do you think it's possible to do something like training a Kirby amiibo to inhale you, and spit you out under the stage, or jump off and foot stool their victim when they break out? Can you team your amiibo things like Perfect Pivoting, Dash Dancing etc.?
