I figured I'd make a thread about these NFC toys to see how many of you like them. I think the way they're implemented is creative and nice, and I really like the toys themselves. They look like a cute collector item.

I believe that all of the Smash related characters are indeed modeled off of their official Smash website artwork. I have not found an exception yet. So that gives us a good idea of what future Amiibo might entail.

Don't get your hopes up. They said MOST of the fighters are getting figures. Palutena may not become a figure. Others that may not are Sonic, Mega Man, Pac-Man, and Mii Fighters.

But she's a newcomer. Why wouldn't you have an Amiibo for the newcomer?

They do look nice, so I'd buy them solely in that regard even if there wasn't connected to the game, and I barely collect things like that. Feature wise, it'll be interesting to see what a level 50 CPU can do after analyzing your gameplay and whatnot.

It will be interesting to learn the extent to how good an Amiibo can get compared to both normal CPU and a human player. I'm looking forward to it.

I probably won't buy every Amiibo but the ones I main as well as some other ones I like. Will be a fun side thing in any case.

the main thing is they have to work with other games so if they dont have games to intergrate i dont think we get a chareacter as a amiibo so idk just speculating

A lot of these are surprisingly well-made. At first I was thinking they would be a tool for storing information on the way a player fights, which would have been crazy for sparring. Still, I'm looking forward to building up the figure. Could be useful for mastering bad MUs.

They look really well made, but I am not really interested in buying amiibos, since I don't see the appeal of figurines.

Really hoping they don't tie DLC/new characters to amiibos eventually.

I don't think physical DLC characters would be an option for a game with as huge a fanbase as Smash. It'd be worse than those rare Skylanders figures people used to go crazy over. Let's hope Amiibo remain an option for superior practice/funsies/shelf display material.

I think the Amiibos are a pretty cool concept, at least in terms of their actual functionality within the game as an adapting AI. Not a huge fan of the toys-to-life games, but I think it'd probably end up getting 2-3 of my favorites as Amiibos here.

Skylanders Definition: Butt ****ing the consumer with Microtransactions and clutter you have to keep around your ****ing house.

OR a Disney Infinity

Disney Infinity Definition: Same thing as Skylanders (See previous entry), but distribute Exclusive figures to as MANY different places as possible so you can waste your gas money by driving to several ****ing stores, buy the figure and discover it at your local Gamestop later, causing you to regret driving 2 cities over to get your instant gratification at Toys R Us

Note: I don't touch those kind of games.
