Amiibo not using smash ball.

I have started training my amiibo for ultimate so far I have transferred samus over from SSB4 and started a Ridley and inkling from scratch. I have noticed the amiibo seem to have some sort of phobia towards the smash ball. My samus will go after it about half the time but both Ridley and inkling will hit it a few times then lose interest. The inkling in particular will actually jump away from it after hitting it and allow the enemy to grab it. I have tried 1 on 1 ko’ing only with the final smash but that doesn’t seem to affect anything. Does anyone else notice this and or know a fix for it?

It seems like my amiibo do the same thing, they've only hit it once, I think.

Check the Smash Ball.

If one of the Black Line are shorter than the other one, it's a Fake Smash Ball. Unless your Amiibo is VERY low( as in lvl 1-3) it will not try to hit it at all.
