Smash 3DS Amiibo functionality for 3DS

Is anyone else looking forward to this update, which is supposed to be sometime this month. I pre-ordered the "New" 3DS XL so I'll get to mess around with my Link Amiibo sometime next week hopefully.

I'm wondering if it'll be as expansive/fully functional as the Wii U version. Would suck if you could only use/save a few amiibo.

You're right I forgot about that. It's that same thing if you're playing the new Mario Party game that's going to come out.

I really doubt there'll be any differences. The data will most likely be shared between both versions of the game.

I thought they said that you wouldn't have to erase data for the amiibo to play both versions. I think that's just for playing a different game like Mario Party or any other game that will need to carry data.

"Summer 2015" in Japan, who knows when for other regions. If the NFC dongle is region free, you could import it, but Nintendo wireless peripherals are usually region-locked. I had to learn this the hard way with the GBS wireless adapter I bought in Japan...

So i heard Nintendo will make an attachment to the normal 3ds that allows the use of amiibos. Is that true or just a rumor, cause I'm thinking of getting the new 3ds but I probably won't if the attachment is real.

It's true, but there's no concrete info from Nintendo yet. They specified "Later this year" so I just cut my losses and picked up a "New" 3DS.

I hear that there will be an addon for the 3ds and 3ds xl for amiibo. It will function like the skylander device to bring them to the game. It will release in may according to IGN and other websites

Same here, but since it might release in may, I'd go for the new Shulk amiibo
