Amiibo "Dog Fights" tournament?

Could it be considered to do "dog fights" tournament (for lack of better term), thanks to the amiibos, where players bring the figures they have dedicatedly trained and confront them to other player's figurine?

I mean, those amiibos things are basically "Pokemons" and the players who own are basically their Pokemon trainers.

I don't expect this to ever get big, but it could be a fun side-tournament thing. Or not.

weren't the Brawl CPUs already able to learn stuff and act differently, in training mode?

I remember someone came up with the idea for amiibo doubles; one person and their amiibo is pitted against an opponent and their amiibo. I thought it would be quite an interesting idea for a side event.
