Am I the only one who really doesn't like Shovel Knight?

I've heard nothing but praise for Shovel Knight. The things that I've heard people say about this game are ridiculous. After getting some money from Christmas, I decided to get the game. After playing it for a bit, I have to say, what the ****? Shovel Knight isn't that great. The music gets on my nerves, the game doesn't look very nice, the levels are too damn long, and it plays like Megaman 1/2, but you have a shovel instead of the Mega Buster. I never hear anyone say ANYTHING bad about this game. Am I seriously the one person who thinks this game is, at best, okay?

The game is more suited for people that enjoyed Mega Man, Castlevania, and Ducktales as a kid since it takes a lot of elements from those games. The things you listed are basically what a lot of people find charming about Shovel Knight. If these ended up as weakpoints, then the game just isn't for you.

Never played the game, but you'd probably hear more criticisms if it wasn't Indie. People don't like criticising indies as much.

As stated above, it's very much a love letter to classic Nintendo Hard platformers, with elements of modern fantasy and pop culture humour thrown in for good measure.

I have yet to play it, but I am very excited by what I have seen.
