Am I the only one not disappointed by Namco Taunt?

We all know that the move where Pac Man spawns various Namco icons out of the palm of his hand is a taunt. I see many people very disappointed by this, but I'm not at all. Yes, some uniqueness for Pac Man has been lost because of this, but I still enjoy what his moveset brings to the table(though I think he has too many normal attacks). I still believe Pac Man represents Namco, just not entirely in his moveset. He still looks like a very fun character to play. Thoughts?

To me, it was just plain funny. I took a little too much pleasure in the sorrow of Pac-fans.

I'll just leave before I start something. :)

To be honest, I was expecting it to be a taunt, and I'm happy that it is. I like the fact that his moveset is now entirely Pac-Man based, aside from his up special and grab. He uses ghosts, dots, fruit, and power pills. He represents himself and his game, and I love it.

The Namco summons as a move would have been cool, but it just wouldn't have fit for Pac-Man to use them. Showing them off as a taunt, since he's Namco's mascot, is far more fitting.

I'm hoping Mr. Driller appears in the taunt personally :D ((after all I saw the Taiko Drum face.))

I'm fine with it mainly because Pac can still throw a Galaxian through his Neutral Special. I didn't have any hopes for it in the first place mainly because his pose was different from the one demonstrated as his neutral special.

I feel like if that was any more than a taunt, his moveset would be a bit too complex.

I never expected it to be anything but a taunt or a single A move. Honestly Pac-Man having that taunt makes me consider him the best guest inclusion in terms of presentation and representation; I've always seen guest inclusions as representatives of their company rather than their own series and Pac-Man through that taunt alone shows himself as the Namco mascot and representative better than any other guest.

I knew it would be a taunt. Didn't even matter to me. I love how pacman can represent namco as a whole without having to have it clog his Moveset. Im glad that pacman was able to keep his moveset based on abilities that are unique to pacman, and not other random namco characters

Couldn't have said it better.

Thank you very much.

I'm personally neutral on the inclusion of guest characters. They are a nice idea, though I'm not keen on the focus diverting from the Nintendo characters, but provided that only so many get announced I can deal with their inclusion (I'm hoping to see it kept at 3). As also noted though, I see each of the guest inclusion as representatives of their company, certainly helped by each guest character so far being the most iconic character of their respective company and closest to their mascot in each case. So yeah, while I'm overall neutral on Pac-Man's inclusion, the fact that he does represent his company through that wonderfully neat taunt does make me see him as the best implemented guest character in fulfilling what I see as their purpose.

I actually really like Pac-Man's moveset. Of all the possible Smash newcomers, I could not help but wonder how Pac-Man would work. In a way, he kind of reminds me of Mr. Game & Watch; he utilises various items and whatnot that have appeared in his games as well as other Namco Bandai games.

It would be so awesome if SNES 32-bit Cless Alvein was part of Pac-Man's standard special.

I actually had no idea that taunt was very frowned upon, I personally really like it.

I don't really like the taunt. The thumbs-up+wink and him laying on his belly with the ghosts around him are plenty for me though.
But also it is a move. It was confirmed awhile ago in a PoTD (and in the trailer) that there's another version of it where he can "charge" it, getting a different fruit the longer he charges, with the charge speed talking twice as long after the orange. And they all do different things.

Only disappointment is that it doesn't come out as fast as the intro video so you can't get a bunch of different sounds at once.

Personally, I think the Bonus Fruit is better than what using the various characters would have been, if only because (at least if you've gotten to level 13+ in Pac-Man) it makes sense for the fruits to appear in a fixed order and get stronger. (On a side note, I find it interesting that they used the Super Pac-Man palette for the key, rather than the original Pac-Man's dark blue and yellow; I guess it's more visually distinct from the rest.)

I love the taunt, though, and now that I've seen all of its forms, I like that King & Balloon, Bosconian, and Sky Kid make appearances alongside the more common favorites (no Metro-Cross, sadly). Hoping they change the voice clip from King & Balloon to the NA version, as it sounded pretty hilarious.

Please refrain from making stuff up, Nobody in the entire universe didn't love this and think it's the best video-game taunt ever.

Sheesh.

I was only disappointed that the prince of the cosmos wasn't a part of it since he was the 'modern namco mascot' for a while and all other namco mascots got repped some how like Mappy. (Also Katamari Damacy does have a single game on Nintendo systems so it isn't too far fetched.)
