Am I the only one having some... problems with PM?

Ok, before anyone bashes me - I love PM. It just turned Brawl into something so much better, and I have alot of fun with it with my brothers. And it might just be me who misunderstand something here, but here goes:

I've always had some problems with PM. Very often, it feels as the imput is lagging, or not responding at all. For example, I can run towards an enemy and planning to short hop into a Forward Air. And very often, it turns out to be a Dash attack instead. And I'm sure that I'm pressing the Jump button. This is also often the case with normal tilts. I can clearly see that the character is in its Idle animation, but it often doesn't respond on the first tap. And for the shields, it really feels awkward to me, as I often cannot roll or exit the shield. I know that PM has increased stun on Shield, but this happens even when I'm not being attacked. I put out the shield, try to roll, and it won't respond at first. And this isn't because I move the stick too early, because the shield is fully up before I try to roll. And the stun on the shields, (this is personally, remember), it kind of.. bugs me. I'm stunned for such long time, I can't roll, can't exit out of shield, etc.

Because of these things, to me, PM feels kinda uncontrolled and awkward to play some times, as I very often find myself pressing the buttons rappidly several times to make sure the character will do the attack eventually, and that it's really dangerous to shield/roll (but I'm suppsed it's supposed to be that way, probably to make shielding more of a risk).

And one more thing - has anyone experienced a loss of a jump? Especially with Captain Falcon, even with Tap Jump turned off, I often lose a jump which results in a KO. This can for example be me jumping once, being knocked off stage mid-air, and then I cannot jump again. It doesn't happen very often, but occationally.

As I said, I simply love PM and I have so much respect for the team and their work - Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this.

Lots of people have problems with PM, but they wouldn't play it competitively if such problems were that debilitating. I have never heard of these issues. Are you fairing with the c stick? which character are you using? which smash game do you have the most experience with?

This is on a crt correct?

Have you checked your controller ? This issue could be one of a deteriorating GC controller (has happened to me several times in the past).

Probably just your controller.
The only consistant bug I experience is that Tournament Mode crashes after two games, but that's a known issue, which will hopefully be fixed next patch but if not its easy enough to work around.

EDIT: @ Kati Kati
If he wasn't using a CRT there would just be frames of lag that he would adjust to, but he claims that commands are just flat out not responding.

If you're coming from Brawl, it's probably just that you're not used to a lack of buffer.

I've played PM and Smash 4 the most in the past months. Played Brawl and Melee before that, so I would say that either PM or Smash 4 is my most experienced games. I often use Ganondorf, C. Falcon, Wario, etc.
I'm using normal stick and the A button for areals mostly :\

Could be. I will buy a new controller eventually for Smash Wii U, so I can test it on PM then :)

Ah, ok. I'll look into the controller and test PM with a new one I'll buy eventually :)

I think its the lack of Buffer. Smash 4 and Brawl are both very lenient with inputs.
