Am I close to the red ring?

My 360 has never given me problems, until just now. I was playing wheelman, and it froze. Twice. I thought, whatever its probably the disc (i saw a few scratches), but then I tried playing NBA Live 10. It kept freezing. I kept restarting the system, sometimes it would freeze as early as mid-360 intro before it even got to the dashboard, and sometimes it didnt even freeze---the screen just went black mid-game.

Anybody know a fix?

I know it isnt just these two games, ive tested it with a couple of my others as well including Halo 3: ODST, Sega Superstar Tennis, and Blue Dragon.

I would suggest sending it in for repair. I don't know much about 360s, but this seems to be sound adivce for any console that does something like this.

It sounds like it's about that time. Almost every 360 owner has gone through this bs (including me). I'd suggest shipping it back to MS so you can get it repaired.

yea, thats what happened to mine before i ended up with the red ring. microsoft "repaired" it for me for free even though I didn't have a warranty. What they really did was send me a refurbished unit.

Everyone 360 is destined to red ring at some point in time.

Constant freezing on your 360 is a sign that it's about to red ring at any given moment. I'd suggest calling 1-800-4MY-XBOX and tell them your situation and they will help you with your problem.

Take it from me, I'm currently on my THIRD 360.

I've been though the same situation before OP, I remember when I got my first RROD. I bought CoD4 when it was released, I put it in my 360 and it was loading the first movie where you have to do training. My 360 froze, I'm like "whatever" then I restarted it, it froze again and then I turned it back on and then I got the RROD.
