Alternate Down B Moves

People have been saying things like Sonic's B is his spindash and his down B is his falcon-dive like attack we saw him use. Only problem is, we saw Zamus use that same attack earlier. The fact that Sonic has to be on the ground to use his spindash pretty much means his spindash is his down B, but what would happen when he down Bs in the air?

It seems like some new (and old characters) have new down B moves that only work while on the ground, and if the down B is used in the air, it becomes the generic dive move, similar to the in air falcon kick, just without the fire.

Now I know for a fact that I've seen Zamus in one of the videos use this generic dive, and it looks the exact same as Sonic's. I'll check the videos to find out where we see Zamus do the dive.

Now we know that Sonic's down B has to be used on the ground, and we havnt seen Snake and Zamus' down B moves yet revealed on the Dojo. I'm gonna guess that Snakes down B is the box, which can't obviously be used in the air, so in the air he does the generic dive.

This could also be the secret to the Mario tornado. Perhaps he can only pull out FLUDD while standing (seems reasonable) so when u try to use the down B in the air, he does the tornado (instead of the generic dive as it just fits better for him.

I noticed this too. I'm not sure it sheds light on Mario having the Tornado in the air, I still think that's an A move. But I do think they might be implimenting a falling kick move like this for characters who have down specials that don't work in the air.

Just makes me curious what Samus' down special is...
