Smash 3DS Alternate Control Questions

Will we be able to use the D-Pad for Smash Attacks on this game? Does anybody know if this option is available, because I really hope it is. I'm not very rough on anything controller wise usually and I just got a new XL, but recent articles have gotten me slightly worried. I feel like this option would ease alot of the tension on the circle pad. Also I'd prefer using the D-pad for smashes anyway most likely.

Damn. I hope this is an added option as dlc or something because it'd really help with alot of the circle pad wear and tear
