what can Olimar do by himself move-wise?

I believe there are other threads that will satisfy your needs, though I can't remember where they are right now. To say the least, he mostly has a spin attack in the air and a few other smash attacks, though it's limited. It's mainly the spin attack, much like Marios. There's a video of Olimar in some Superstar mode where he throws away all his Pikmin during the beginning of the battle and just fight without Pikmin. It was boring to watch the guy do spin attack after spin attack while running around using items. It can be done, but it would be like using any other character and just using their neutral B attack the whole time.

Jabs
F-Tilt
D-Tilt
N-Air
U-Tilt

I'm pretty sure that he flicks up a Pikmin similar to his Up-Smash, not 100% positive on it though.

Tested it, the U-smash throws a pikmin. Olimar does a little hop and spins like the Nair for his U-tilt.

Alright, so Olimar has five weakish attacks by himself, definitely shows you need the Pikmin to play a good Olimar, but we already knew that.
