i bought an adapter a year ago and it didn't work and i bought another one recently and everything works except the joystick. the joystick hardly reacts when i move it, making it impossible to play, and nearly impossible to even set up a game. with the same deadzone and range my xbox 360 controller works perfectly. i experimented with the range and deadzone a bit but nothing helped. i've tried it with 3 different controllers, and same situation for all.

does this adapter work for anyone? any ideas? if not reccomend an adapter?

thanks

I would still like to hear some recommendations on a coverter for 64 to usb. Im about to get one and need to know from the dudes that know. I know alot of you play this on an emulator and use 64 controllers. Which do you use and how well do they work.

This one is N64 AND Ps2 to usb and that would be perfect for usin it fr other games (GGPO, 2DF, zSNES etc.) use your n64 controller for smash and then plug your stick in.

This is straight from the description

Connect your Playstation Dual Shock and Nintendo 64 joypads to your computer's USB port. All buttons are supported, but also works with any modern PC game. It allows you to play all PC games designed to be played with joysticks. The PSX + N64 USB Converter is compatible with the famous Dual Shock and Dual Shock 2 pad and its analog features. Furthermore, all 16 buttons are usable simultanously and analog features are available.

Does this converter have any lag on it? dont know how picky smash players are about imput delay but i play GGPO/2DF sometimes and need 0 - 1 frame input delay maximum. This description actually mentions joysticks and sounds promising enough but can anyone vouch?

The best adapter you could buy right now is the Mayflash dual adapter, which is the one that is pictured in the first post. It is the most reliable and best made (besides the adaptoid, which I almost regret buying). If you really want a dualshock input, you can go for the n64/ps2 usb converter but it is buggy and doesn't handle the control stick as well.

i have the first you posted.

i think its good but with some joysticks it gets crazy, all butons are pressed and you cant play :p (many people have the same problem)

i read one topic here in smashboard and someone said if you plug both PS and N64 joysticks at the same time all N64 joysticks works well, i tried it and worked! so if someone ask me if its a good adapter, i would say Yes :)
