Airel's after hopping from ledge

Question: How do you do an airel immediately (very soon) after jumping off a ledge? Do you have to double jump / fall to double jump or is it possible to attack after executing a single jump?

(I almost wrote "platform" instead of ledge, THAT'D be a total noob questin )

You have to press down or away from the ledge in order to let go of it, then you can doublejump and do an aerial.

Shorthopping is pretty self-explanitory. It makes your jump shorter.

Heh, sorry I wasn't clear (I actually know all the advanced techs and can do them 95% of the time for most of them). What I meant is: does shorthopping affect your ledge recovery? In my previous tests it didnt, but I could be mistaken. Thanks!
