Alright, this is the official thread for Agahnim, Ganon's alter-ego in the Light World. Agahnim is a wizard with magic-based attacks. I personally think he would be a great addition to Smash and would be quite different from any of the other characters.

Games Agahnim has appeared in:

-The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
-The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
-The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons
-Some say he is the wizard that cursed Zelda in Zelda II.

For more information on Agahnim:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agahnim

Possible moveset:

A- Palm thrust
AA- Double Palm Thrust
AAA- Energy Palm. Agahnim extends his arms and sparkles of energy are emitted from his palms. Can be held as long as A button is tapped.

Tilt A Up- Waves his arm over his head doing little damage.
Tilt A Down- Sparks come from his hands which are facing down on either side of him.
Tilt A Forward- A quick energy jab. He thrusts forward with sparks of magic around his fist.

Air A- Tenses up and sparks appear around his body.
Air A Up- Holds his hand upward with a ball of white energy around it.
Air A Down- Shoots a small lightning bolt from his finger straight down. Only goes a short distance.
Air A Forward- Puts hands together behind his head and brings them over his head and down, glowing with white energy. - Meteor Attack.
Air A Backward- Shoots a ball of white enrgy from his arm stretched behind him. Travels a short distance.

Smash Forward- A bolt of Lightning shoots out in front of him from his palms. Good range.
Smash Up- Shoots a Ball of white energy straight up.
Smash Down- Places hands on the ground and lightning shoots up from the ground on either side of him.

B- Blue Energy Ball- A small ball of blue energy travels fast. If hit by an attack or blocked/deflected, the ball of energy splits into three balls, which all go straight at whoever hit it. If not hit, does normal damage.
B Up- Lightning Strike- Shoots lightning from his palms down at the ground quickly. Then uses the lightning to push himself upward a bit. Can move horizontal as well until lightning is gone.
B Forward- White Energy Ball- A white ball of energy is thrown forward. Slower, but stronger than the Blue Energy Ball. Can be hit back at Agahnim with the right timing.
B Down- Lightning Bolt- Agahnim ducks down and Lightning shoots out from his body quickly in a random direction. Unpredictable by opponent and player.

Super Move- Dark World- A large Dark Portal opens up in front of Agahnim and a large blue hand comes out holding a huge pitchfork. The screen gets darker and Dark Energy connects with all opponents in range, doing heavy damage.

I'm not very good at making movesets....but I tried. Everyone give your suggestions as well and discuss anything about Agahnim!

eh trying to make a topic on every single possible character to enter. Though I did forget about him. I dont know how good of an addition he would make though. Your sample moveset isnt bad though.

I think the 2 Zelda eras Nintendo is focussing on are Wind Waker and The OoT/TP one. Its not likely they will deviate back to an older one.

I don't see why they wouldn't go back... they're going back for Pit and Ice Climbers.. why not Zelda too? And who said that's all that they're focusing on with Smash? I haven't seen anything from WW in Smash Bros. They have Link to represent TP, Zelda and Ganondorf to represent OOT, Young Link and Great Bay to represent MM. Why not have Agahnim to represent ALttP? It was a very popular game.

And if you think Vaati would be a better choice.... make a topic about him. I'd like to see him too, because I'm a huge fan of Zelda, but this topic isn't about Vaati, it's about Agahnim.

Wind Waker wasn't out yet when Melee came out. They went back to Pit because there was nothing from Kid Icarus thats playable in Smash yet. Nintendo probably won't have characters from too many different Zelda timelines. It would be **** confusing and start up more arguments over which Links are different.. Who says that Zelda, Ganondorf and Y. Link are going to stay the same?

They didn't came on the idea of Pit by themself, it were the fans who wanted him. Same goes for Meta Knight and Wario. Zero Suit Samus is a mystery for me...

Interesting character to put in SSBB. I like Aghanim more than Vaati, but I feel that Vaati has a better chance of appearing. There's also Skull Kid, which seems interesting enough with Majora's Mask to be a fighter. But Aghanim...nah, he's not popular enough.

Nintendo doesn't always listen to the fans.(if that was true we'd have seen Wolf by now) Sometimes they'll add a character that they think would be interesting. Before SSBM came out, no one was saying"Please add Mr.Game and Watch!!!"

I would like to see him just because he would be so different from other characters in the game. Zelda is the only wizard-type character (despite Ganondorf's move names), and I don't think there would be a lot of overlap between the two.

Vaati? I'm still confused.

Anyway, seeing this topic made me smile. A Link to the Past is by far my favorite Zelda game to date. Agahnim was a neat villain, and rather cruel. I like the idea. Kudos.

Rowe, I know WW wasn't out in Melee came out, and nothing from WW was in the SSBB trailer. So how could you say that they're focusing on WW when it hasn't been featured in anything related to Smash so far?
Who knows, they might all change (G-dorf, Zelda, Y Link), but as of right now, that's all we know, so I'm going by that.
And who cares if it starts up more arguments about different Links, they haven't stopped making new Links in the Zelda games. Every Zelda game starts up an argument about where the new Link comes from, and I don't see them sticking to the same Link, so why should they stick to just a few Zelda games in Smash?

Flok, I agree. I know Vaati has a better chance, and Agahnim isn't that popular, but that doesn't stop me from wanting him in the game.

And thank you Takalth and Kereokacola, at least some of you are being positive about the idea...

Doh, I didn't say that they do this always. What I mean is that MOST of the characters came in on request(Think of Marth, Peach, Bowser, Zelda)

I don't think he's popular enough and I think that he will play similar to Ganondorf, Not a clone or similar in the moveset just similar to how they use their moves and attack and etc.

Hooray Agahnim topic, which I have to revive because mine got closed. :(

And Agahnim is just a wizard in the NP comics, so it could be debated that Agahnim and Ganon are not one and the same.

He was a priest in japan, but they made him a wizard for the US.

Anyways I am starting to like the Idea of seeing this character, but still I want to see skull kid more. I can't say anything about vaati or midna because I haven't played the games they are in.

He could work, and he's deserving - He's been in a lot of Zelda games. However, I don't know how many people actually want him in. I think I'd rather Gannon just get the magic-flinging sword swiping moveset he deserves.

I'd rather Ganon get a cool moveset and we see Agahnim. :x

Nono, you misunderstood me. In the Nintendo Power comics, he was actually someone who worked with Ganondorf, and he was the main antagonist. It was shown he and Ganon were different people.

I'd rather see Midna since she's in the new TP, and quite frankly, the best new Zelda character I've seen since OOT and that includes Vaati.

As for aghanim. (this is gonna contain spoilers.)

We know Aghanim and Ganon are the same person (I doubt they'll use the comics,) and we know that
Ganondorf and Zant are somehow or another connected and can affect each other. What if (and this is one helluvan if) Ganonfdorf could transform into Zant, and through a different color or costume (Think Peach/Daisy from SSBM,) the Zant form of Ganondorf could become Aghanim?

It's a long shot, but I really don't see them putting Aghanim in Brawl. Especially not over Midna.

Despite the fact he's only appeared in the one game (but so have Pit and Ness), i'd like to see Zant as a new Zelda character. He was pretty crazy.

I would love to see Aghanim in Brawl in some form. I'm not too sure about Playable Character (although Brawl definitely needs some pure magic users) but at least as an AT - his trademark unblockable Lightning Strike for major damage.

Such a great character. I still remember the very first time I faced him in 1996 - absolutely amazing.

Heh, I drew a picture with vatii, skull kid, and zant and wrote BRAWL HOPEFULS on it...
Agahnim was in the corner crying :/ Not that I don't want him in, I just really don't see it happening...

Also, I don't recall Aggy being in oracle :/

Oracle of Seasons; he was a Mini-Boss in the 4th dungeon.

Oh yeah :/

Well, I can even see twinrova in the game more than I can this guy <_<
Actually, more like Koume and Kotaku in an ice climbers style... final smash
ends up with them as twinrova (similar to ZSS)

That's true, especially since they've been in more games (only by one more, though).

its not just the comics. agahnim's identity is debated heaps. the booklet to ALttP describes Agahnim as ganon's pawn, cos ganon himself is still trapped in the dark world. the only reason people think they're the same is cos at the end of the game ganon describes agahnim as his alter ego, but the definition for alter ego isn't as clear cut as people seem to think.

I don't think the problem is that he is obscure but rather obscure in a franchise with multitudes of much better and well known characters. It'd be like arguing Waluigi over Luigi or Wario.
