Smash 3DS After seeing videos and playing the Demo...

I don't see this as Brawl 2.0

I personally, would like to dub Smash 4 as Brawlee.

I've seen lots videos and takes on how the game feels. It clicks in my mind that this is a combination of what made Melee and Brawl great while cutting out some of the bad.


This game just feels so good. It actually really feels like Brawl+ and Project M. It is fast and super responsive. It has the good ledge mechanics from Melee (reworked) with a twist. It lacks the tripping in Brawl. And it also lacks the weight of bricks that characters in Melee had. I'm so looking forward to getting the full game in my hands and using Kirby, Ness and my lovely LADY PALUTENA who is teasing me in this demo! Why?!

So, what are your impressions of this game?

I think it was a fantastic idea for Nintendo/Sora Ltd. to release a demo version that is pretty much the final build of the product.

Of course it's not Brawl 2.0 You can watch one match of the full version and tell it's its own beast which is what you would expect from a new game. Personally I haven't played it yet, but it looks just a bit slower than the perfect speed for me. Still, I see all the potential in the world for the metagame to develop into something great. I agree that it looks a lot like Project M to me. A lot of the matches I've seen remind me of matches between two of my friends in PM and those are some pretty hype matches.

I would ignore any "Brawl 2.0" people because most of them are guys that weren't going to accept Smash 4 no matter what and are just trying to cause trouble.

It feels and looks better than Brawl and there are combos for sure but imho defensive play is still too rewarding. It's a lot of fun though
