A completely useless but mildly interesting quirk with Aether Drive (Custom Up B 2, the diagonal one) is that, at certain game speeds, it will cause the thrown blade to move over a wider area. I was able to hit an opponent almost an entire FD away. Visually, it looks like Greninja's Double Team victory in that it teleports all over the place.
I can confirm it works for
- Special Smash (both Slow and Fast)
- Training mode x1.5, x2/3, x1/2, x1/4, albeit with varying properties
- Timer item
Shadow's Chaos Control didn't seem to affect it.
Although this might have implications about other things, I'm not sure if anything else in the game has this same quirk. Regardless, this is totally useless in just about everything, but I thought I'd share anyways.
