I've been playing Ness since Earthbound. Started playing seriously days after melee was released and I knew I would be maining ness Ness. I've got myself a polished(no not polish) Ness. Anywho, I just want some opinions as I find myself doing the same combos and same tactics a lot. Just wondering whiich aerial would you use out of a shield? I know it's situational most of the time, but when you find yourself able to land any of the aerials on the opposition, which one would you use? Which areial is best to set up a nice combo and at which perentages? I know I could watch a bunch of video(which i already have), but I also want other peoples ersonal opinions. Any other tricks/info on aerials would be awesome.

Cheers.

I love out-of-shield DJC'ed aerials. Bairs are my favorites, and they don't always have to be DJC'ed either, a short-hop will do most of the time. I don't know why but I land this move on Samus players the most frequently

A word of caution: don't try jumping out of shield for a really close aerial attack against: Fox/Falco [their shine is quicker than anything you could do and they'll almost always follow up any aerial, which you would block, with an L-cancel-->shine, which you will eat if you jump out of shield for an attack] or Marth/Sheik, they can grab you out of the air extremely easily.

A better way to handle situations like that is to SH out of shield backward and then swing the second jump aerial right in their faces...great time for a fair

Another cool thing to do out of a shield is wavedash. If you're good at controlling how far your wavedash goes that can set you up for some sweet combos [meaning: if you know how to wavedash backward just a tiny bit, you'll be in perfect bat range]...either way, it can help you get out of being pressured by aggressive/top tier characters. it can also throw them off since most people don't WD out of shield [from what I've seen]...oh and btw, easiest way to WD out of shield is [if you use R to WD] hold L to block...and while you're still holding L, just WD using R [obviously switch the buttons if you use L to WD]

and obviously, WD-from-shield can also be effective if you WD forward...but it's only really practical if you play against someone who has a habit of rolling backwards if you block their aerial [Captain Falcon players will be the ones you see do this most frequently, though that doesn't mean CF users will do it a LOT...they just happen to be the ones I've seen do it the most]
