When I fair as Marth with the cstick, I cannot move backward with the other control stick while holding back. Marth drifts forward even while holding back. It seems that, if I use the right joystick to input an attack, the left stick stops being read and stops affecting my movement. I have to reset the control stick to neutral and THEN input backward. What's going on? Is this just with the pro controller?

Seems like im not the only one.

Immediately going in to my first match I noticed this while trying to do fake out fairs on Sonic (continuing my forward momentum, resulting in getting punished). There's definitely something up.

It's a straight up bug with implementation, I have no idea how they broke Cstick use so badly. Maybe it works fine with the GC controller. It seems to do with how both sticks being used at the same time is registered (or the lack thereof).

Unfortunately Japan doesn't get GC adapters until the JP release so I can't test the GC control >_<, but I can give the classic control a spin.

I was afraid of that... Few people have a special gameplay with this button mecanics.
One exemple is that I used to do :GCUL::GCCR: at the same time, resulting in short hop with backward momentum and Fair...
Sort of non-aggressive strategy and great mind game. I also planned to learn this to an Amiibo.

If someone know something...

This is pretty disappointing. Hopefully if it's a bug it ends up getting patched.

Wow, this is ****ing stupid. Makes landing Zelda's lightning kicks all the more difficult.

Looking forward to the inevitable patch.

I've heard this isn't Pro Controller specific, and that if you set the C-stick to Tilts then it basically works properly.

What's happening is that the C-stick overrides the control stick's direction. Instead of the game reading two sticks as input, it thinks it's only reading one stick. This makes sense; 3DS players are not at a control disadvantage, and there will be fewer glitches from having two types of stick inputs.

I heard about this too but someone said the solution is to change the c stick to attack instead of smash and it fixes the problem. Not sure if it works but always worth a try
