Advice on Doubles?

Not entirely sure where to put this, but I'm just getting into some (casual for now, but standard tournament rules and maybe a tournament here soon) doubles and would like to get some advice on doubles.

I've played doubles before and I don't know what to look out for on the battlefield. In singles I tend to be able to read an opponent's trajectory and guess where they land... and that's about it for mind games unfortunately :/ I've got friends who've offered to teach me some different ways to do mind games and get reads, etc. when I finally get back from break.
1) How will mind games work in doubles?
2) What do I need to pay attention to in doubles? Standard stock, damage, weapon uses, and opponent like in singles, or more?
3) How do I be mindful of my partner? Do I stay out of his way or...? I know getting in his move range/jumping into a move he's aimed at an opponent is a bad idea but do I stay out of his fight altogether and just keep the other threat away? I know this isn't supposed to be two 1v1 matches but I do need somewhere to start.
4) How much would pre-match tactics help? Practice as a team is incredibly important but barring that, what are some good options to do pre-match?

In past doubles matches I noticed that the quickest way to lose a match was getting between the other team's two members and not getting out of there quick enough (or to be so arrogant to think I can fight them myself and not paying attention to my partner), and I am (fairly) certain that stock lending should be discussed pre-match. (And that it is entirely possible to activate a counter to strike the person's teammate, which I've had happen to me.)
Any other help would be greatly appreciated, and I thank you for taking the time to read this.

If you want to play doubles first you need to know your ally, the character(s)they use and are the support or Defensive.

Most of the time you need to focus on your opponent but try to focus on your ally as well so when they are in trouble

You and your partner should choose who is lead and who is support at the beginning of the match and maybe alternate roles mid match depending on stocks and percents.

The general rule should be the following:

*Pay attention to what your partner is doing as well, you should be able to cover any openings/weakness he has while also covering your opponents options and he should do the same for you as well.

*Optimally, if both of you are have breathing space and are pressuring a rival you should both try to space yourselves in a way to cover most of your opponents options(for this you have to be VERY wary of what you opponent CAN do in any given situation, character knowledge helps a whole lotta too)

*Teams are not two separate 1v1s, there are times in wich ignoring an opponent to create a 2v1 situation is better, ignoring an opponent to save a partner or even constantly throwing one of them offstage so you can both abuse the remaining one.

*Always try your best for one of you to be a stock tanker.

*If ever stuck on a 2v1, make sure to constantly switch your target as to not get blindsided but also to always keep your opponents at the tip of their toes.

*Respect each other's space, the optimal position to have is center stage while keeping the other two out but doing your best to sandwich an opponent without giving out stage control, this also makes it easier to pull off combos.

Those are some base rules.

Could you elaborate, please?
Sorry, I always assume everyone knows what that means thanks to MOBAS! My B.

Stock tanker is the support guy, the one that plays really safe and fishes things a lot instead of approaching so he can have lotta stocks to share with the lead in case he gets bopped early.(the one that plays more offensively/starts things.)
