Advice on a controller

Hey everybody,

I just recently bought a Switch and I was wondering what the best Gamecube Controller would be for me to purchase. I would consider myself an above average casual player. Keep in mind, I am a college student so funds are important when making a decision :). In short, is wired or wireless the way to go?

Thank you!

GameCube controller or Pro Controller are the favorites amongst most players. Just your preference.

Wired/wireless differences are negligible. Wired Procon was found to be slower than the wireless Procon, but the GC adapter was the fastest. But again, it's not going to make a noticeable difference.

I've heard the 3rd party GameCube shaped Procons have durability issues, so YMMV with them.

Whatever you do, just don't get some cheap knock-off controller from a no-name brand. I once got a cheap GC controller that was so ****ty I literally could not perform attacks with the C stick in Brawl.

I've actually gotten used to a pro controller now (The extra L button and lack of travel on the triggers are great), but it lacks octagonal gating so when I'm not being careful I often find myself accidentally doing down and up attacks in the wrong direction.
