Absolutely CANNOT Shine..

Suckage on my part. I've successfully incorporated wavedashing, SHL, and SHFFLing into my game, but it seems I've no use for the shine. I'm guessing that means I'm losing a lot of combo possibilities, but is the shine really necessary?

I think shinning off of a SHL and drill-shine from edge is the way to go with a lot of players but I use shinning more as a counter move. If someone is too close they catch the shine combo. This is just how I work but I have ways to go with Falco.

Shining is what makes Falco and Fox so great. Of course it's necessary.

Did you read the sticked guide at the top of the page >< that outlines all of the shines uses. Also watch some pro falco players play so you can get a good idea of how to use the shine.... it IS necessary.

Let me put it this way:

If you can't shine correctly,then give up on Falco,and don't even attempt to play with Fox.

I was in the same situation as you were in,but practice makes perfect...so Just practice.You can't expect to shine like a pro within the next few days,or even weeks.Just practice the shine and you will eventually get a feel for it.

prevents shield grabbing, combos off of the nair, dair, combos into everything. Fastest move out of shield (for falco, fox's shine out of shield is fastest in game). Moral of the story: Yes, it is very necessary. Watch any vids of shiz, he'll show you.

If you cannot use the shine into your gameplay..switch characters, its the bread and butter of fox and falco, they must have it and use it well.

shining with falco is very necessary,same goes for fox.

it is very useful to use shine with falco or you lose combos against many people, and your aerials will get sgrabed

Unless you are Takagi, you need shine.

80% Shine
10% Dair
5% Bair
5% Fsmash
