Hey guys.

I have a question. Can the custom move items drop in regular versus matches?

If so wouldn't it work to have a bunch of CPUs battling a 99 match with items on high but only barrels and capsules enabled? Even if it doesn't work with moves it should work with other things like CD's right?

What other way are there to get all custom moves quick and easy?

Crazy Orders or Classic mode on a high difficulty. Use custom Ganondorf with ~+130 attack boost. You'll kill almost everything in a handful of hits (his custom side-b called Flame Wave kills at early percentages). Be patient and cheap. You can also time the roulette before each match to land on custom moves. Trophy Rush also guarantees a couple of custom moves if you do well enough (DK, co-op if you can).

I found that smash tour is the most effective way (for me at least), it gives you a page of rewards just for one complete sitdown. I get like 3-5 custom moves everytime. and unlike going into other modes, it gives you ones from different characters. however If you want to focus on one character specifically, crazy orders/classic is the way to go.

This. (see my topic about making the most of smash tour with minimal effort here)

As of right now:
  • set it to small map
  • 15 turns
  • 4 human players
  • Specically control all 4 players to get into fights every turn you can (walk them into each other) then use 1 player to KO the other 3 (don't suicide them, actually get the KO to count for one of the players, doesn't matter which one).
  • On the final match, KO every available fighter to the last man standing is the last fighter available.
You should be able to knock a whole run out in about 10-15 minutes. This will result in ~15 equipment items (badges, customs, hats, and costumes). You'll likely get 1,000 to 2,000 gold, some trophies, and master's orders passes as well.

Of course you can let it play itself with just 1 player (takes about 25 minutes when ignored). Check on it to make sure it's not waiting in Home Run or Target Smash games. I do this when I'm watching a movie or taking care of other projects.

For the most reliable way to get Customs - Play Trophy Rush with the character you want customs for. This can be hard on your gold if you're not playing much on other modes.
