About Lucas/Ness death chain grab

What exactly is it? Sorry, but I just don't understand it.

Is it that certain characters can grab Lucas/Ness, grab attack them until they break free, and then either attack without them shielding, or they can grab them again? Or is it something else?

Both. Most characters can attack them before they can shield, run and grab them again, or grab them without running. And you can't break out of it by jumping.

I thought it was explained pretty well in the other thread, but...

Basically about half of the cast (including Lucas himself, iirc) can grab Ness and Lucas, mash the attack button until they break free, and because Ness and Lucas have abnormally long stun when breaking from a grab, they are open to being grabbed again and again and again and...you get the point. Ness has it worse off from what I hear, but testing is still being done.
