About DLC...

Who thinks that we're going to get DLC for characters that may already be in in the form of Assist Trophies/Pokemon (though I kinda doubt we're getting any more Pokemon)? I kinda wanna know so I know whether or not to get overly excited at the possibility of Waluigi DLC.

Well, I feel like DLC might as well be confirmed, we have the unused text to prove it (it was found in the game and says something along the lines of "You need to update the game before you can access the in-game store"). But I'm wondering more if characters that have already made it in as NPCs will also have a shot.

if theyre doing an DLC for Mario Kart 8, a significantly less popular (currently) franchise than Smash, there will be Smash ones.
We can speculate forever on who though. Theres about 50 or more pokemon that would make sense in smash/are popular enough to bother, Wolf/Krystal from Starfox are potentials, Impa/Darunia could be Zelda possibilities, heck they could throw in an Omega Metroid for the hell of it lol.
Actually i think the Omega Metroid would be funny. Obviously be another heavyweight since hes huge but his appearance would probably throw people off for awhile going "THE HECK IS THATE?!" lol

I don't see why not. Riki is an assist trophy AND part of a final smash.

I think that's different from an actual playable character though. For the assist trophy and the final smash, both are less important than someone on the roster itself.

I sure as hell hope so. It's a great way to help satisfy people who were miffed by the seemingly senseless loss of characters with each game. Old favorites can make a dramatic return, and new, unexpected characters can leap from the shadows and surprise everyone. So much potential--I hope it isn't wasted.

Considering we have an extra space on the stage screen (for an arrow for DLC characters), and extra room on the stage screen, DLC is going to happen. I doubt we'll see Assist trophies as DLC, although I think Isaac might be a character that will show up eventually.

I think that might be about Assist Trophies, as Doctor Whatshisface is there from Brain Age, so, would that mean that (if this is real) we might be getting DLC Assist Trophies? Heck if I know.
