Demos? I know they have the demos at E3, so who knows what could happen! Do you think this is a good or bad idea (besides the fact that the content that will be shown on the livestreams and demo are not final and could be changed)

I don't see why they wouldn't be able to do demos, I would sure as heck drop everything I'm doing to download one; the only downside I could see is that people may somehow think the demo means that the game won't be having much more stuff being added to the full version; besides, the Wii U demo section in the eshop HAS been a bit barren lately...

Judging from how buggy the demos at best buy were from what I saw, and from what I've heard people report, the game isn't ready for any sort of demo release, unless it was restricted to a few select characters on battlefield.

but I still want a demo...

I personally wouldn't mind, I'm not dying to actually play the game so much as I am to give it a test run, it looked like it played okay on the invitational stream and most of the players seemed to have already adapted to the game to a sufficent degree so I suppose it may not be unplayable at the least, assuming it plays like brawl but I suppose looks CAN be deceiving

Definitely. Even though the demo would be 2, maybe 3 characters with one or two stages, just a small thing to curb my ever growing appetite would be fantastic. And seeing as the game's quality has been confirmed at E3, there's no chance a demo would cumulatively lower sales due to disappointed fans.

I can see a smash run demo . The 3ds version was really smooth and seems more finished then the Wii u version at time. Besides that I only fear that I will play it 30 times the max a demo can be played

In the current states I wouldn't expect the E3/Best Buy demo for either version ending up on the eShop, but I do think a demo being released at some point would be appreciated.

Why contain it? Let it spill over into the neighborhoods and GameStops, let the Smashers pile up in the streets.

Usually demos are pretty much the final product exactly by the time they're released to the public. This Smash-fest idea was made specifically to hype things up, which is why they made it so limited. The only participating Best Buy in my state had a line so long that they couldn't even let everybody who showed up play the game.

If we get a demo, it'll likely be released about the time the game goes gold, and it'll likely be small and focus on the new modes available. We're not going to get a beta because Japanese developers typically don't roll that way.
