A talented guy you should take to record official matches

I don't know if you have seen the work of this guy: http://stage6.divx.com/user/JuliusSSV, but the quality of his recording simply humiliate any youtube videos.
This is what he was able to not so long ago:

I think you should seriously consider taking JuliussSSV at least to capture the finals. I may sound like a whiner, but youtube is really starting to kill my eyes, and I regret to only be able to see those awesome matches in so poor quality.

He plays better than me, anyway. He is working on guide about how he record, but as he said himself, it took him "years of practice".

Hmm.. the videos we record are extremely good quality. youtube just kills the quality, no matter how good quality the vid was before you uploaded it to youtube.

Then why don't you use stage6 as a hosting solution?

Check out AJP anton's vids in the ROX 4 thread. There should be a download link to the original file not the youtube one, the quality of those vids are soo good ^^.

people don't have the patience to wait for a high quality video such as this to load.

i suspect he is recording from a component /svideo source as opposed to composite.
I cant try either since i dont have teh component cables for my gamecube or something to capture component video.

also, those videos are NOT 60fps.
divx does not allow you to create 60fps files.

Not all of them, indeed, but the last one (the brawl trailer) for example is at 60fps. This is why it is so heavy to load and this is why the animation is so smooth. Just check the size, and you'll see it is bigger than the HD gametrailers one (who is at 30fps. It's also the case for the first 10 minutes of metroid Prime 3 (in my first post).

When I say that this guy has talent. Not that all the videos must be that heavy. The first ones in this thread showed that 30fps is enough for a good video.

Upon further inspection you can do 720i/p @ 60fps so that is probably the resolution he is using.
Next time I go capture some matches I'll capture 720x480 instead and I'll let you know if that works out :)

EDIT:
divx also allows exporting to an 'unconstained' setting of 60fps @ any resolution. whether or not stage6 will take it is something else. I'll try a 640x480 upload @ 60fps and tell you how that goes

Wow, this quality isn't really THAT amazing... I record using a Dazzle and my quality is 10 times better than that, I just have to make the file size lower to put on Youtube which makes it look a lot worse. This is probably the case with a lot of smash videos.

Few streaming are so good anyway. And the reduction of quality problem is why I try to convince people to pass to stage6.

I would be interested to see one of your video, tough (in a not reduced quality, of course).
