A small rant for online mode

You don't know how mad I am at online mode.

80% of my battles online are wonderful, lag free. But sometimes the game thinks it's a great idea to connect to someone in japan or some other country and as usual, they're all usually kick assing good. But the bad part is that my opponents with terrible internet usually use characters not so dependent on accurate button pressing. Like fox, or any speedy strong character (*COUGH* MAC *COUGH*)

My main is Luigi and it will always be Luigi. Luigi isn't weegee when you have a 1 second lag that is persistent, and when you fight speedy and strong characters, you need pretty accurate button pressing. So the whole battle, I lag, get smacked, try to shield, lag and get smacked. It's a never ending cycle.

My record for online is ruined btw. How was your day?

I share your pain. Ike is one of those characters where everything must be timed perfectly as well especially when most of the attacks I use are in the air. Maybe something will be implemented into a future patch...Let's hope for that

Fighting japanese players is overrated when it comes with a noticeable lag. I think that there's an option somewhere in the miiverse settings that prevents you from playing online with anyone outside of your country. You should check it out.

Is this on the Wii U or 3DS? or both?

I've been told that but I got no idea where that is.

Oddly enough I've had matches against Japanese players that were nearly lagless, and I own a NA 3DS and game.

You should try playing Game & Watch with lag. Beyond the usual 'hard to shield' and inaccuracy problems, every single move for G&W in SSB4 is easily punishable and you really need the element of surprise. It basically amounts to you trying to perform quick attacks, lag allows enemy to easily defend or dodge and kick your ass before you get to do anything again.

Fortunately, most 1-on-1 matches don't have much lag. 4-player games are completely unplayable for Game & Watch, though.

I wish nintendo can update a region and connection filter or when choosing characters have a connection quality in the middle

ROB and King Dedede, for me personally, feel like the only playable characters on For Glory that I can play competently with regardless of lag. Though in general, I truly hate how, even when I know I'm holding shield for projectiles and whatnot, sometimes my character will look like a deer caught in headlights and will just take the hit. Or when a match starts running slowly, and you accidentally and amusingly spotdoge, for instance, multiple times for no reason.
