I've actually been playing Melee for quite some time now, but I've never actually known what the JV stands for in a "JV __ stock".
Can someone help me with this?

A simple (noobish) question.

lmao its just a inside thing where if you beat someone with zero percent you JV them.
For instance, if you beat someone with 0% and 2 stocks thats a JV 3 stock.
If you beat someone with 0% with 3 stocks thats a JV 4 stock.
Etc etc.
For instance, if you beat someone with 0% and 2 stocks thats a JV 3 stock.
If you beat someone with 0% with 3 stocks thats a JV 4 stock.
Etc etc.

JV 3 means that you have 2 stocks left, but you are at 0% when you win the match.
