Hey all, I realize this is pretty late seeing as pools are today and people might not see/comment on this, and it will probably make me/my region look dumb, but sue me - I decided to go for it. I'd probably tweet this at Prog/D1 but I don't have a twitter.
Please EVO commentators, whatever you decide to say, Shy Guys or Fly Guys, please do not attempt to correct yourselves. Just roll with it. Please don't talk about whether we called them Shy Guys and Fly Guys in the past, or a story involved of who called them Fly Guys. Focus on any other sub story - the story behind the players, tournaments/regions played in, styles of play, way they hold the controller, etc., although I'm sure you don't need me telling you what to say. Just don't talk about Shy vs. Fly, unless it's Amanita.
AND JUST TO ADD/END THE DEBATE in case you're all wondering (eye roll),
Per the great source Mario Wiki, the ones on Yoshi's Story are Propeller Shy Guys, or Flying Shy Guys.
Fly Guys are the Shy Guys with the propellers directly attached to their head:
Our guys on Yoshi's Story need a separate contraption with backpack straps to fly:
So technically, they are 'Shy Guys'.
