A quick question on what's allowed to be done with the controller

As many of you know, you can calibrate your Gamecube controllers. Is it legal to calibrate your controller to anything except default? Like holding the triggers down slightly to make wavedashing faster/easier or holding your control stick slightly up while calibrating to make your jab into an up tilt automatically?

Dust is like one of my favorite games of all time by the way :D. But anyway I think it's ok as long as you're not cheating or making it so you're having some HUGE advantgce over somebody. But It could be different in some areas like here you can kinda do it but some scenes may not allow it but i'm pretty sure you can do it.
