A potential way to cancel Flare Blitz's recoil?

So I played a match on Lylat today and I used a Flare Blitz. It hit my opponent , and Charizard started to go into his recoil animation. But then I landed on the platform directly below me, and Charizard instantly returned to his standing animation. What happened?

That happens on a few stages with platforms, if used properly Charizard can remove a lot of the recoil on his flare blitz if he does it properly.

This is dependent on the opponent's positioning on stage though, so there isn't much you can do but try to go for it when they are in a particular spot. Imagine if Zard could control his recoil trajectory? Man, there are so many little ways they could make the move a lot more usable. Such a limited move.

hmmm I know that on Battlefield, you'll end up landing on the lower platform after a Flare Blitz, but idk how this would even happen. Unless there's a replay, it'll be pretty hard to recreate it because of all the angles :ohwell:
Do you know if it was tilting up or down?

wow that would actually pretty interesting, but I'm guessing the move was designed so you're supposed to hit. High risk/reward, except when you're on For Fun lol.
There's probably already complaints of people that think Flare Blitz is incredibly broken (I'm not talking about the competitive community btw), and that's probably why they're not going to give serious buffs to the move.
