Hey there, Smashboards! I'm Chris, but you can call me ShockingShots. I've been playing Smash since I was a little kid, but I never really played it competitively. It's a good thing too. I still have replays saved on Brawl from when I was a kid, and I was awful. I was inspired to try playing Project M competitively because my friends and I get together and play it occasionally and...well, I got tired of losing. One of my friends already plays competitively, so I got advice from him occasionally, but it wasn't really enough. So, when I started practicing more on Project M, of course my other friends started practicing too, so not much has changed in terms of my win/lose ratio :p But it's all in good fun, so I don't really care.

I've always mained as Pikachu, even as a little kid. I'm not sure why, but I think it was because I used to really love Pokemon. Not only that, but everything about Pikachu's controls and attacks just felt natural to me. I learned how to use him pretty quickly, and I never really used anyone else other than him for a few years. But, once I started playing more competitively recently, I tried using all the characters in Classic mode just to see if I was decent with anyone else. I was decent with a handfull of them, but the one that stood out the most to me was Sonic. I had a bit of trouble getting used to his speed at first, but once I did, I became somewhat decent with him. I'm still working on various different things with those two, but I'm far from being what I consider 'good' yet.

That probably sounds weird to a lot of people now that I think about it. From the competitive games I've seen on youtube and twitch, not many people use Pikachu (I'm not sure about Sonic). Hearing some new kid like me say their controls feel 'natural' probably sounds weird to a lot of people :p Either way, I'm just rambling now, so I'll end it here. From what I've seen, other people put a clever phrase or tagline at the end of there welcome post, so I feel obligated to do that. However, I'm going to make the end of this post anticlimactic.

Oh, nonono, don't get the wrong idea.
In Melee, Pikachu is 9th place, at C tier, just above :samusmelee: but below :falconmelee:, which I guess puts him at High-Mid tier?

In Brawl, he's B tier, above :zerosuitsamus: but below :falco:, which I think puts him roughly at the same situation.

I don't know about PM since I don't watch that and there are no tier lists for it.

Now, I don't know if you play Smash 4, but, in case you don't know, Pikachu is a moster, there. I see a lot of people saying he's High Tier, some even say he's Top Tier, so that's great for a long time Pikachu main like you!

I've only played Smash 4 a couple times, so I don't know much about it to be honest. I was going to attempt to play it some time, but that definitely makes me want to try it out even more :D
