Extended J/C Glide Tossing! (I was tired so the distances aren't exact)

Short how to: When the run animation starts the looping portion (Like Marios sliding cape) simply do a J/C Glide Toss and it will be usually longer.

Compared to normal J/C Glide Tosses
Increase: Other > Very Far > Far > Barely > Pretty much none
Decrease: Short > Very Short

Nyanidesuka was the one who found this. I am simply posting about it.

As a note, Tossing the item up will increase the distance with most characters, if not all.
I'll make notes of people who don't do this.

1. Mario, Far
2. Luigi, Short
3. Peach, Very Far, Tossing up will result in the same distance as a normal J/C Glide toss
4. Bowser, Very Far
5. Yoshi, Very Far
6. Rosalina, Far, Tossing up will result in the same distance as a normal J/C Glide toss
7. Bowser Jr , Barely
8. Wario, Pretty much none
9. G&W, Far
10. DK, Very Far, Tossing up will result in the same distance as a normal J/C Glide toss
11. Diddy Kong, Barely (Thank God)
12. Link, Far
13. Zelda, Short, Tossing up still results in a longer Glide toss
14. Sheik, Pretty much none, Tossing up gives her an actually good Glide toss!
15. Ganonderp, Pretty much none,
16. Toon Link, Very far
17. Samus, Barely
18. ZS Samus, Very far
19. Pit, Barely
20. Palutena, Far
21. Marth, Barely
22. Ike, Pretty much none
23. Robin, Short, I think? Not sure if I did this one right.
24. Kirby, Barely
25. Dedede, Pretty much none
26. Meta Knight, Very VERY far, Tossing up makes the Glide Toss go extremely far
27. Little Mac, Very VERY far, Not quite as long as Meta Knights. Tossing up has same effect
28. Fox, Very far
29. Falco, Very Short
30. Pikachu, Very Far
32. Charizard, Very VERY far, Just as long as Little Macs and Meta Knights surprisingly.
33. Lucario, Short
34. Greninja, Very far
35. Jigglypuff, Short, Not that it makes much of a difference.
35. Duck Hunt, Far
36. R.O.B, Far, Tossing up makes him stop in place.
37. Ness, Barely
38. Cpt. Falcon, Very Far
39. Villager, Short
40. Olimar, Barely
41. Wii Fit Trainer, Pretty much none
42. Doc Mario, Oddly enough stops in place, Tossing up makes you do a normal length Glide Toss
43. Dark Pit, Far
44. Lucina, Far
45. Shulk, Barely
46. Pac Man, Pretty much none
47. Mega Man, Pretty much none
48. Sonic, Very far
Average Sized Mii Fighters:
49. Mii Sword fighter, Short
50. Mii Brawler, Far
51. Mii Gunner, Short
Small Sized Mii Fighters:
49. Mii Sword fighter, Short
50. Mii Brawler, Very Far
51. Mii Gunner, Short
Large Sized Mii Fighters:
49. Mii Sword Fighter, Short
50. Mii Brawler, Barely
51. Mii Gunner, Short

All credit goes to Nyanidesuka for finding this!

And for those of you who want evidence of this. I have nothing to record with. Not even a phone :x The most dramatic differences are Sheik and Charizard. Both of their Extended Jump Cancel Glide Tosses are insanely far compared to normal!

I'll wait for either video evidence or Nyani to confirm, personally, but it sounds useful for Links, Rob, and Peach, at least.

Watching this thread.
Video evidence would be nice. I've been trying it on 3DS with no success (bear in mind, I'm on my lunch break at work and won't have my Wii U till tonight).

I believe "throwing" an Item is referred to as "Tossing" to keep it from being mixed up with Throwing a Grabbed opponent.
Also to keep from unpleasant images of "throwing up". Baaaarrrrffff! :scared:

Also, Mii size/weight will most likely affect this. I predict shorter/lighter would increase distance.

I noticed this as well, but isn't it always just longer during the run animation than the dash? At least that's how it felt to me. But I guess this also depends on the character who does it.

Nope, it's always longer when you dash. Running doesn't take you nearly as far. Although I kinda fail to see the point of the OP. Is this somehow different than a regular jump canceled toss out of a dash? I agree with AnchorTea. We need video evidence.

Ahh, sorry XD It was like 3 am when i was doing this. I have changed this. :p lol Also, for more confirmation that this does change the distance I spent another couple hours going over this today compared to J/C Glide tossing while sprinting and standing still, getting the same results.

Try to keep from double posting tho. We have the edit button for a reason ya know. I'll be uploading some footage of Link's Jump canceled glide toss the way I normally perform it soon (both out of run and dash, but mostly dash) as a comparison tool, or if perhaps I've been performing the "extended" version the entire time lol. If that's the case, then this is likely nothing more than a normal glide toss out of dash.
