Thats a pretty weird glitch, I wonder if your opponent experienced the same thing or if they just fought a stationary 'you'

There are a lot of glitches like that. The one that bothered me the most is when I was fighting these Japanese player who uses Pikachu. After the battle something weird happened in the selection screen. It says that I selected Pikachu and that I was the Japanese player. The other player had my name. And it just stayed like that until I turned the 3ds off. Weird. I think your opponent experienced the same thing since mine did (I think). Hope Sakurai was lying about making another patch and just fix this glitches/bugs.

I've also had this happen once on the 3ds. Seems to me like its a problem with the server identifying which console is which. I just turned my system off since, just like in your video, the other player wasn't doing anything, wasn't selecting character, and I sat in the waiting room beating up the other player's character instead of my own for a while. I'm unsure whether Sakurai knows about this or not. Seems rare but it'd be nice for it to be fixed even though it's more comical when it happens rather than enraging like bugs often are.
