...And I'm having a hell of a time figuring out exactly what I should be linking him. Dude's currently starting the documentary.

Any suggestions? My first thought was stuff like Wife's commentary, but I have no idea how to find that, or other game-knowledge resources that aren't really directly related to execution.

Thanks in advance for the help.

All the recent majors in the last few years have had great commentary tbh but what he really needs is that understanding of the layers of the game and everything that's going on. It's not as hidden as some fighting games, but there's still a decent bit of understanding necessary. Not sure how he should tackle it if he isn't interested in playing. It might be that he is shy or adverse to losing, and want's to watch people play and learn how decent players play and the options they choose before he tries to fight others. In that case, just let him get into it and link him hype stuff alongside educational stuff, and maybe even some cool stuff or combo videos and after a while see if he feels like playing some friendlies.

Maybe you should suggest playing team battles with him.
Against the cpu at first, but after a while he might get interested in playing human opponents.

Hmmm... Suddenly I'm reminded of Isai for some reason...

Most of the techniques being used. It misses powershield and shielddrop (maybe some other stuff too but it covers a lot)

And just as a bonus it would be nice to explain some basic fundamentals of play (not techniques but just stuff like why it's bad to just shffl nair 24/7 despite shffl nair being a pretty solid option)
