A fox combo

A combo that I am working on with fox is jumping, fast fall, dair, L-cancel, shine, wavedash out of shine, grab, then uair. I usually get stuck on the wavedash into grab because my wave dash can't go as far as I knocked the opponent and I end up grabbing air, leaving myself exposed. Any tips on how to wavedash far enough to grab the opponent? any input appreciated.

Yeah, learn who waveshining works on. And the combo you described is a drillshine into wavedash grab.

do perfect waveshines. just make sure your finger moves from the shine button to the wavedash button very quickly, and that you position the control stick very horizontally. but other than that, that's one of the most basic fox combos (except w/ a FHed dair).

You dont have to do perfect wavedashes to grab out of a shine. You can compensate for the short wavedashes if you just walk a little after the wavedash and then grab.

you do for some characters, or if they DI the shine away, but perfect waveshining is just a suggestion to make it easier.

Oh my goodness, you guys are messing this guy up.

It's almost always faster to dash after you wavedash and JC grab, except for a few characters like Peach, Link, Boozer and Ganon.

^agreed. It's best to dash out of a WD into the grab for those chars like Marth who go just a bit too far for a waveshine.
