Alright, I'm a very technical Fox, and generally the only times I have issues with my technical game is when I'm a tad intimidated by an extremely beastly Falco, who's also teaching my Fox. >_>

Anyways, onto the questions.

Against Marth, how do I avoid his grabgame? It seems like I just get ***** sideways whenever he manages to get a grab. It also seems like I'm very vulnerable to techchase in this matchup, no matter how many times I mix it up.

Against Luigi, how should I approach, besides keeping him away with lasers, which even then, doesn't work at stages like FoD. :/ If I try to dair > shine, he can just shield it, if he approaches with down + b, I can't out prioritize it with my nair or dair, shine him through it, etc. If he gets his down + b to connect, it seems like he has a free 2+ utilts on me, which all I can do is DI and try to jump out of, then try dodging whichever aerial. Also, CC dsmash is annoying.

Against Falco, just ugh. I try to keep on a seperate platform than him (FD asides, of course), and even then, all I can hope to do is get single shines off towards him, or attempt an aerial. If he avoids my aerial, he gets a laser > ****. What DI should I try here, and teching just gets me lasered into another **** combo. At FD, all I can try to do is avoid staying at ground level as much as possible and try to mindgame into a full jumped nair > shine, and the combo tends to end there. :/

Also, I have difficulties getting grabs off. Any advice on some decent set ups, aside from nair shine > wavedash > grab, or the occasional utilt > grab?

Against marth: SHL is your friend. I'm guessing he's DD camping you into grabs? Since your tech skill should prevent other grabs. The trick here is to play smart. Try to hit the marth at the point where he has to turn around to continue the DD, that's a weak point (just watch out, it's not perfect).

Against Luigi: Shield the down-b "Haul-*** move", and shield smash. Try to get the luigi off stage w/ bairs/ nairs.

Against Falco: Try Nair>grab>chainthrow. Try to thunder's if you can (you say you're very technical). Also, full hopped nairs>jabs work too. The goal here is to nair/ bair them off the stage (maybe from a uthrow), and then **** his recovery.

On grabs: DD into them, SHL into them, try tree grabbing, Nair into them, Nair>jab into them, the list goes on.

Hope this helps

Hmm.

Against the Falco, I can't see the nair > jab getting through a shield > jc > shine. Like I said, this Falco is an absolute monster. I can see where my edgeguarding needs work, however. Also, alright, I'll give the Thunder's a chance. What's I've been trying to do in this match is platform camp, and look for an opening, with the occasional tease of a shine here and there, but his Falco is flawless.

It's so difficult getting a grab in this match up for me, seeing as I can't DD into it, SHL into it, etc. And the times I do have a grab opening, it's like he's read my mind and has me grabbed first on multiple occasions. Oh, and to prevent lasers, I try to stay semi close when I AM up to it, but if I make a mistake, he catches it, and turns it into one of my stocks.

Also, how should I be trying to DI here?

In an effort to try to explain the sheer ownage of my friend's Falco, here's a 2v2 vid I looked up on YouTube of his Falco. He's the one without a tag (rice).

His falco is not flawless. No falcos are. It would be nice if you posted a 1v1 vid of you versus him to more specifically answer your specific questions.

Ah, that sucks. I had a good... 16 or so hours of playtime from yesterday and day before against him. I'll see if he can record some next time I play against him, then.
