A few questions

Fastfalling, how important is it to fastfall? Should I be doing it every time?

After doing an aerial move, how long is the delay for the next move? Does it vary per moves and character? Like yoshi's dair I've seen combined into two without a break in between.

Shieldstun, does stun raise with more dmg on a character? What is the best move to use to stun someone in their shield with each character (to be able to go into a combo).

Rolling, should it be used STRICTLY to dodge an attack?

Thanks.

I don't think the stickies answer his exact questions.
I really like this guys questions too. They all seem to be reasonable questions and he seems to want to get better by knowing these facts. Don't just link him to a thread that lists the advance techs because he obviously knows them. He wants to just know more about them.

Fast fall - It depends on your situation, imo. I sometimes don't fast fall just so I have more time to think of what to do. I sometimes fast fall because I want to hurry up and hit an opponent with an attack. It's situational for me.

The delay between moves are different for each character. Each character has a certain amount of start up lag and ending lag that revolves around their hit box.

Shieldstun - Not sure

Rolling - Depends, I guess. I don't roll backwards to move backwards much anymore since I use falcon. I would rather just pivot. I don't think I can really answer this question either.

Moving fast in this game is good. It helps with your approach, as a fast moving attack hitbox is harder to counter or avoid than one that is moving slowly. Fast falling makes you move fast, so it is good. But like all good things, it needs to be used properly. Fast falling all the time is just going to make you easier to read for your opponent, so be sure to switch it up from time to time.

Rolling generally sucks since it's so laggy. Some characters have fast enough rolls that they can be useful for backing off at times, but generally dashing or jumping away is better.

Fastfalling compensates for inability to change your second jump height. It also gets you back faster, eg. after escaping a combo with Pika's Agility. Sometimes it's better not to fastfall, as it's generally expected, and not fastfalling can actually help you dodge attacks.

Shieldstun is doesn't change with damage. I'm probably wrong, if I am, someone correct me. The best moves to give shieldstun are Z-cancelled aerials. This is because there is no delay at all to link into a grab (which is what you should be using shieldstun for, unless you want a shield break). The strongest aerials are best, I think.

The other questions were already answered nicely.

Exactly. Some characters, particularly the faster ones like Falcon, should never really be rolling.

Using rolling well is actually something I only really see in very advanced players. Knowing how and when to use a roll to dodge and punish takes skill, since most of the time rolling just gets you punished.
