Hello! I hope I am posting these questions in the relevant section. If so please tell me as I am really new here ^_^

I am actually rather new to the Melee world. I ain't very good, but I do want to learn. I'm from Australia, the land down under. Kangaroos and stuff.

Anyway, I heard Melee isn't as fast on a Flat Screen tv compared to a CRT. I was told it can lag a bit, and performing techniques such as wave dashing can be harder/impossible. Unfortunately for me, finding a CRT is not going to be the easiest thing, so are there any good substitutes? I am searching still for a good size CRT, and I don't think I will find it anytime soon. ;(

I heard that a plain monitor (Like a computer monitor) is good for the game. Is this true? If so is there any good tutorials on how to set up a Gamecube to one? Sorry if I sound extremely stupid here xD

Anyway, thank you for your time.

LCD screens have something on them called Post Processing where it tries to clean up the image and make it look better. Plus because it has to convert from an analog signal, and break it down and reprocess it as a digital signal, that also takes time, so there's usually a lot of input lag on these screens (Unless you have a pro-gaming monitor with low input lag).
What I did was I bought a Nintendo Wii with a Component Cable for it, you can then pick up a Component to HDMI converter box and a BenQ or ASUS gaming monitor and hook it up to that and you will get less than 16ms of lag (less than 1 frame).
So besides CRT being best, this is the next best thing to run it on!
