A few more not-so-crazy stages?

Don't get me wrong, I'm as stoked as anyone about the opportunity to butt heads on an out-of-control spaceship on a collision course with the sun, but with the recent WarioWare update I got to thinking that maybe there won't be enough "conservative" stages to accentuate the crazy ones. Off the top of my head I can think of the Battlefield one, Yoshi's place, and possibly Bridge of Eldin (under the assumption that the Bridge won't utterly collapse at some point and send our heroes into the depths of Hylia)...

Everything else either has what appears to be some big game-altering twist or is a three-in-one crumbling vehicle under attack by gigantic rain drops. It all reminds me of stages like Big Blue, a stage that sounds cool on paper but is not one I particularly cared for... and even Big Blue's got nothing on some of the stuff we've seen! I mean Holy frijoles.

I just hope they turn out alright. Isle Delfino in particular just seems silly to me.

Sakurai most likely doesn't want to just show all stages of one kind. If he showed all plain stages you'd see so many people complaining "Brawl just looks boring." He's show-casing many different types of stages to show variety. It's nothing to worry about, we'll see our fair share of simple stages.

You forgot smashville. That stage is going to be the best. Flat bottom with one platform in the middle and only effects are visual.

Battlefield, Smashville, Yoshi's Island, Delfino Plaza, Bridge of Eldin, and Lylat Cruise all look pretty simple, basic stage layout with few hazards or anything like that. That's the first six stages revealed on the Dojo. Then after that he started showing highly dynamic and interactive stages, like Castle Siege, Rumble Falls, and WarioWare. So we're seeing variety, but we're also seeing that there will be lots of "plain"-ish stages, and their variety will lie in their backgrounds.

Nah man I'm gonna have to agree wit "The Zizz?" He makes some good points. I like playin on stages that have special effects, but I hate it when da obstacles, distructive debris, and such get in my way and hinder a brotha's top peak performance.

So yup, I'm all for Smashville, Battle Field, and FD. Pretty background without stuff gettin in my way.

Honestly, I like stages without the gimicks like Battlefield, but with more interesting platforms.

Skyworld (Pit's Stage) is really what impresses me. It doesn't have a gimmick that can totally kill someone unexpectedly, but its platforms aren't so dull and simple that you'd get bored of it.

Variety is all we can ask for & I'm sure it's what we are going to get. That way, everyone's needs will be met. Battlefield-esque stages for the tournament scene and Wario Ware-esque stages for people who just want to play Brawl casually.

I hate people that do this.
What's the point in having all these stages if they're all the same as far as gameplay goes?
You already have a few stages that are identical gameplay-wise.
USE THEM.

The more variety, the better, definitely. Not that every stage has to be a hazardous, obstical-driven mess, but it's nice to have a good amount of stages that aren't just made up of a few scattered platforms.

He's probably just showing us some of the great ideas he's come up with during the development period to grab peoples' interests. There are inevitably going to be plain stages, but Nintendo hopes to appeal more to the masses (by giving them something different) as well as the more competitive players.

You misunderstand, I don't want Battlefield clones. When I say not-so-crazy I mean Great Fox, Hyrule Castle (N64), middle-of-the-road types. Stable and consistent but still with opportunities for craziness.

But I did forget about Smashville. Maybe I'm just being paranoid.

OK....There will almost definitely be more plain stages to play on. Sakurai is just revealing more moving, frantic ones to grab the attention of players. Imagine how bland the Dojo would be if every stage revealed so far was like Hyrule Castle or Great Fox. Eventually I would get tired of the lack of hectic stages. You're going to get your plain levels, Sakurai just doesn't want to show them yet.

Then I don't see why Isle Delfino is going to be a problem for you. Isle Delfino looks pretty lax.

That's the one with the out-of-control flying.. thing, isn't it? And eventually it crashes into the city (or something of that nature) and becomes a regular level. I think that seems kind of inappropriate for a place like that, if not flat-out superfluous.

Don't get me wrong, I'm lying about how I feel about stages. I don't think there will be any tourney stages despite the fact that there is no true way to play Smash. I'm just closed minded and looking for something to complain about. And I only saw less than 15 stages for now and I automatically assume that this game will suck because I, like most people here, jump to conclusions way too early like a man-hating woman

I overaggerate the hazards of the stage, which there is usually like only 2 hazards at most in most stages. I also totally ignore the 'conservative' looking stages Isle Defino, Smashville, Rumble Falls, and Pokemon Stadium 2. Cuz truth be told, I only want Final Destination to be the only playable stage.

You're either a troll or just ignorant (but in either case wholly oblivious to the irony of your post). Unfortunately for you, how I feel about anything is not for you to decide.
