Hello, I'm WindHero, and I've been a casual Smash Bros player since Melee, and started really paying attention to playing well when Smash for 3DS came out. I live in Hawaii, and never really met anybody to play with/against until staring college a year ago. Since then, I have seen that Hawaii DOES in fact have a Smash Bros community, though not in any huge scale.
Being on the Big Island, you can roughly split the community into two groups: East (Hilo) and West (Kona). Most of my experience playing is on the east side, with my buddies at college. We have some strong players there, including someone who I still can't figure out how he managed to earn first and second in a tournament over on that side. (I myself was unable to attend.) Still, I win just about 40% of the games I play with him.
I hadn't really played anyone on the west side until last Sunday, when 4PGC (4 Pillars Gaming Convention) held a Smash Wii U tournament. 32 Entrants, Double Elimination, and I placed 9th overall in my first tournament, losing to the 2nd place winner. I think the best player on the east side would struggle to win against that guy.
Anyways, I'll only bother with my Smash 4 mains: Robin, Shulk, and Greninja, though I also dabble with Lucario and Link. Robin was the first one I picked up, though I regrettably play her least these days.
In any case, I hope to learn more from this forum, and to be more of a help than a hindrance to its other members!

I feel like a lot of people (myself included) don't utilize Thoron correctly. It's easy to underuse or overuse it too much, leading to predictability and a self-imposed handicap. Of course, most of this must have been hashed out in the Robin forum.
