Am I the only one who wants this? It just needs to be tuned up for the better.

I want to see more matches where the combatant gets Knocked OUT other than getting Knocked Off!

2 things needed for a better Stamina Mode....

1. Stocks (Allowing you to set lives in Stamina would be a big improvment).
2. Allow you to set the percentage to atleast a 1000% as the max.

Boom you got yourself some Stamina!

and why haven't they thought of that yet? lol. it's such a simple solution. you can tell they just threw stamina in there. it technically shouldn't be a special match option. it should be next to stock, time, and coin in the vs mode options menu.

I dunno I mean I would still like to have a Stamina Match with either Time or Stock.
I guess that would go on the second page of match options next to stock time limit and score display.
I love how the characters just become limp noodles after running out of stamina.
Add option to pick them up and use as battering weapon...or in Jigglypuff's case a bowling ball.

Hay thats kinda cool!!! But it wouldn't just be used for when you run outta stamina it could also be doable if the opponent is lying down too, so like if you press A while over a downed player then you pick them up LIKE A CRATE.... or in DKs case just Fthrowem

While Brawl did improve Stamina mode by enabling you to set your HP amount, it messed up for not having a handicap system like what Melee had.

Smash 4 should really utilize two different handicaps.

I have always loved stamina mode but it always so short and shallow it rarely comes up if they did what AIM0001 mentioned I bet it could give stock a run for its money.

Also it would be dead fun to toss around dead bodies like a piece of samus's armor :p

^^^ Not to my knowledge Project M has that. However, there are Stamina Mode-related mods out there for Brawl.

But seriously, all Stamina mode needs is a wider range of Damage Percentage (1-999), a time out option (kinda like stock mode; I think it already has that, actually), and of course the option for additional stocks. Then, that crazy comprehensive fun little side mode is a lot more fun to play, and has a lot more versatility. There's really no reason that these additions shouldn't be added to Stamina Mode. It wouldn't take much more time to make by any means, since all the physics, data, and options are already there. :)

Side note: then after that all we need is a new mode (King of the Hill?), Bonus Mode to come back and not be random, and Coin Mode to have a stock limit!

I liked what bonus mode should have been but they did it terribly. My friends were hanging out once and it was a 4 player bonus match. One of my buddies stopped at the start of the match to eat and left shortly after another friend did the same. The friend who left first won and the second friend came second both getting a TON of points for standing still.

Yeah, if bonus mode returns, it needs to be completely redone. Still, I do like a "style-based" mode. It at least makes for a fun "mini-game" mode (in a sense).

they could have three handicap factors: Attack ratio, defense ratio and starting damage, but it would be a pain to implement auto mode...

Stamina was already fine in Brawl... they could, however, extend the max HP to 999, and make it in 1 HP steps instead of 10 HP.

Auto could always be set to adjust only one kind of handicap.

Now that yall have perfected Stamina mode, let's see ya do the same with Coin mode.
In total I have played 2 coin matches in Brawl. The first time out of curiosity, and the second time to beat a challenge. Neither were enjoyable and I'd rather see this mode kept in Event matches.
I love JohnKnight's king of the hill idea. Maybe have a certain area on the stage glow, the goal is to maintain your position there for 30 whole seconds. Of course as a charactes stands there the time decreases and you could wait til its down to 2 or 3 seconds before knocking them out that way you'd only have to hold it for 2 to 3 seconds. Actually this mode is starting to sound lame too ;__;

One thing I would like to see in a new stamina mode is for characters to "die" like they do in their own games. Ex. Mario jumping & falling off the screen, pokemon retreating to pokeballs, Link dramatically falling to his knees & then falling to the ground, etc.

That would be tough to implement, especially for those who were never playable outside of the Super Smash Bros. series.

They could just faint like they do now or have one made up based on their character.

Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale (what a name jezz) is exploring that kind of gameplay. So Nintendo can see the results of their experimentation before applying a lot of changes in that mode. Is the Nature law, competition makes individuals stronger

Playstation All-Stars BattleRoyale will be based on the stamina mode. Sony will explore this game style much more than nintendo has. Nintendo has to enhance this mode to continue being the king of fighting games

Need...better...stamina mode! All I really want is the option to go up to 1000% HP (or 999%, because God forbid we go to four digits in Smash Bros.), the ability to increase the amount in 1% or 5% increments, and be able to use stock in the mode. Basically, I just condensed this whole thread down into one post. No need to thank me.

Stamina mode seems to be mostly the same, but I've only seen it as a type of final battle in Smash Run.

It would be cool if you could rip open your enemy's carcass when they died and climb inside for some extra protection.

The first post I saw when I opened this thread... oh boy...

Stocks could go a long way in improving Stamina mode. Smash is designed to be about knocking opponents off the stage, so it sucks when you're playing Stamina matches and you insta-lose because someone had a good/lucky meteor smash.

It also sucks when you play a 1v1v1 with Dedede and the other guy gets to his corpse first. It makes a more advanced meta game, though.

I agree, stocks are the way to enhance the mode. Otherwise, pretty much only Custom Stages designed to be anti-ringout work. That said, one of the most fun things ever is to turn on Food Only, .5 Damage Ratio, and hide the health/percent indicator. No one knows when they might fall over dead.

This thread is 2 years old.

That said, I fully support a better Stamina mode. I personally think it's great, but it could definitely be better with stocks and finer HP control.
