I never see pros having trouble with getting chain thrown. My friends spams grabs all over the place and knows painful grab combos with characters that arent even supposed to be able to CG falco. I try everything. DIing in different directions, jumping out, and just lying there when I do get out. It never works.

And "try not to get grabbed" is bull**** because thats impossible due to JC grabbing with marth and fox, shield grabbing etc. How do the pros have little to no trouble with getting chain thrown? :urg:

Uh because they have more experience thats why.

Really you have to not shield too much and play evasive that is probably the most important thing in the game for almost every character especially falco.

With marth it's hard to escape the chain grab beyond mixing up your DI, but with fox you can escape by going up with DIing, and shining at the first chance you get. I'm not sure what other characters are chain grabbing you though.

Just to add on to what superryan and Adi said...

If your friends are shield-grabbing your SHFFL'd attacks, do some empty shorthops towards them to get them to put their shield up, then just grab them instead. When they do actually shield one of your SHFFL'd attacks, you could try jabbing immediately after it, which could lead into a grab for you.

Try to DI and up and shine out of some cg's (like marths). Doesn't always work, but what characters are you saying he's using that shouldn't even have deadly throw combos?

Im not nearly as predictable of you guys are making me sound. I DI in random directions and sometimes I dont DI at all which prompts a reverse dash dance JC grab. But I do see how I havent been DIing up because I didnt think it was as effective as I wanted it to be.

He once Chain Threw my falco from 120%-175%>Dsmash with shiek. His falcon and ganon dont CG but his tech chasing is ********.

i suggest you go practice your di'ing better cuz i doubt you should be having such a hard time.

Tech chasing is amazing. . . . .. . .

And if he's chain throwing you at 120%, its not that you suck its that he does. He should be killing you.

If a Marth is chaingrabbing you, I think you should slightly DI behind him and try to shine. Iunno if that's right, but it seems to work. =/

I saw while watching Soldier of Fortune, Bombsoldier wasn't fast falling some of his aerials when he knew Ken would be shielding, so he'd end up on the other side of his shield where he can't get grabbed. Could work I guess.

A lot of times, using SHL can lure the opponent into an approach. Also, if you start your dair low enough and l-cancel it into a shine, then your opponent won't have enough time to shieldgrab you, since the l-cancel lag and shine opening animations combined are still shorter than a grab animation (It will give them enough time to lower their shield though, so they'll get hit by the shine). It's hard, but you could also try practicing smash-DI. The basic idea is that you DI the same frame you get tossed/hit/etc. It mostly happens by accident, though, so you should still try out different DIs on your opponents. It really is more a matter of experience knowing how to escape chaingrabs.

You can't smash DI throws. Only regular DI, which is changing the direction of knockback. Just holding down any direction will suffice.
Jigg's forward throw can be SDId, but yeah, other than that, SDI/ ASDI doesn't work on throws, so regular DI (or lack thereof) is you're only means of escape.
