Just the first match I have seen, and despite not being 'pro' myself I can see some issues;
He has used only a few moves, and almost all of them are laggy;
Fsmash, Upsmash, dsmash, and DB. I didn't see much of anything else. He doesn't WD, and he doesn't l-cancel as he never seemed to use aerials. He's suffering from the same affliction anyone has when they pick up a smash bros game...I like to call it;
The 'THERE ARE TILTS AND AIR ATTACKS?!' syndrome :p. Seriously though, I honestly don't see much potential. Your fox doesn't seem that difficult, and to be honest, the marth just spammed some of Marth's laggiest moves :/....

Not many tips were given. But yeah, he definitely needs to work on not using fsmash except in VERY specific situations. Even M2K has whiffed some baaad fsmashes....the difference between a newbie/amateur whiff and a pro whiff? A pro can usually prevent heavy punish COMBOS (they still usually get punished...just not as bad as an amateur). So yeah, get him to practice sh, shfl, shfair, nair...Basically, every single of Marth's moves. His jab and ftilt are so beautiful in regards to clanging with a LOT of attacks, and on say...FD in the middle of the stay...a sh dair can actually be effective if you manage to l cancel it into say...a bair?

You definitely know what to do with fox, you just have a LOT of refining to do, same as anyone who just gets into a game's competitive scene. Hope to see your cousin improve....an 8 year old decent at Comp marth would be a sight to behold lol....

lol talk about a new generation. pretty good for an 8 year old. I also just started competitive smash, but have him work on some basic things such as basic aerials shffling, wavedashing, l canceling, wavedashing off the edge. Then move into some harder stuff like short hop double fairs and bair off the ledge for edguarding.
