50hz CRT

So I just got a new CRT, on the back of it is a label with all of its specifications and the label says the CRT is 50hz.
I tried playing melee on 60 hz and even changed my wii settings to 60 hz and all works fine.
Does this mean even though the label says 50hz the CRT is able to play at 60 or is it automatically converted to 50hz?

I think Crts in Europe are usally 50hz. Just play on it in 60hz and it should work well. Everybody does that and it works well and i cant feel any differnce between 50 and 60hz tv's/monitors.
