50 hz crt

So I got this Crt that says it's 50hz on the back.
When I try to load 20xx when using pal 60 it works fine but I'm not completely sure if it's running in 50 hz or 60 hz?
I heard somewhere 50hz crt's can also run 60, is that true?

I noticed that you're in Belgium which is PAL. Unless I'm mistaken: most CRTs in PAL regions are 50hz and I don't believe they've had any issues up to this point with it.

oh right so 50hz can still get 60 fps?

Whether it says 50hz on the back doesn't necessarily mean it only displays in 50hz. Try finding the manual. If it can display PAL60 it should be runnning in 60hz.

Thanks for the reply I actually did a test with zelda running across pokemon stadium and it was the exact same time as on netplay, so I guess that means that it's 60hz

I'm sorry but that doesn't show anything. Whether in 60 or 50hz mode, the game still runs at the same speed and it still calculates in 60 frames per second. In 50hz mode some frames are simply not displayed, it only shows 50 of the 60 frames.
